A Real. Deep. Faith. requires deep roots and healthy fruit.

But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

As followers of Christ, we establish and grow deep roots through

  • Biblical literacy (knowing what’s between the covers of our Bibles)
  • Spiritual praxis (habits that form the framework for a practical faith)
  • Memorization (Biblical verses we can use and share at any time)

The outgrowth of deep roots is healthy fruit, by which others are encouraged, edified, and can visibly see Christ living in us.

Deep Roots = Healthy Fruit

This can be summed up with a wonderful word picture: SEED.

We study the Word of God to equip ourselves with knowledge and wisdom so we can edify the body and make disciples as we have been called to do.

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all peoples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

To help you cultivate a deep faith I have created the SEED Kit.

SEED Kit for deep roots and healthy fruit

It consists of three components:

  • Roots: Biblical knowledge with which all followers of Christ should be acquainted and equipped
  • Fruits: Spiritual praxis or disciplines that reveal the health of the fruit in our lives because we follow Christ
  • Verses: Bible verses to memorize and call up when we or others need them for comfort, peace, and discipleship

Each month I send out one piece from each component you can add to your daily bible study to help equip you so you can grow deep roots and produce healthy fruit.

All you need to get started is a 3-ring binder with at least three dividers. That’s it. You’ve probably got these around the house somewhere but it’s also a great excuse to get some cute supplies. You’re welcome.

To receive your seed kit items each month, just sign up here for my email list or use the form at the bottom of this post. I’ll send the info straight to your inbox. Rest assured, I will not send you spam or share your information with anyone.

Once you receive your email you can print the information and store it in your notebook. By the end of the year, you’ll have a  collection of Biblical literacy essentials (Roots), a list of spiritual praxis or disciplines you’ve incorporated into your life (Fruits), and Bible verses you’ve memorized to use and share with others. You’ll also have access to the whole library if you miss any of the emails.

So, what are you waiting for? Get signed up. You can join anytime and get access to all the materials released so far.
